Restoring the Goodness of God throughout the Valley by
Cultivating Kindness in
Every Place and Space
Convergence Grand Valley is a movement to bring kindness back
to the center of our community’s culture.
We bring the spirit of kindness to community gatherings
throughout the year all across the Valley.
In the High Desert of Western Colorado there is a place where streams and rivers converge to create a life-giving flow. Wherever the river flows there is abundant life that blesses both man and animal, bringing life to those downstream. This is a prophetic picture of our purpose and destiny as a community.
Grand Junction and its surrounding area of Mesa County is a City of Destiny. In the Book of Acts, the Apostle Paul speaks to the leaders of Athens, Greece and says " The true God is the Creator of all things. He is owner and Lord of the heavenly realm and the earthly realm, and he doesn't live in man-made temples. He supplies life and breath and all things to every living being. He doesn't lack a thing we mortals could supply for him, for he has all things and everything he needs. From one man, Adam, he made every man and woman and every race of humanity, and he spreads us over all the earth. He sets the boundaries of people and nations, determining their appointed times in history.
He has done this so that every person would long for God, feel their way to him and find him- for he is the God who is easy to discover! It is through him that we live and move and have our being."
We are here for a reason, our lives have meaning, purpose and destiny. That purpose is that we Converge, that we flow together to create life-giving community. Just as the natural environment demonstrates, let us choose to walk and work together, allowing God to do the healing and redeeming things only he can do.
Flow into our shared destiny through honoring and appreciating one another, especially with those we may not understand or agree with. Through intentional community we may find that we agree on far more than we realize, creating life in the desert. It's who we are; it's why we're here.
Be kind Citizens!
“Restoring our common humanity is key. No matter who wins elections or triumphs in social issues, we will still have to find a good way to live together when the election is over if we are to regain common respect and peace. We may not remember what someone said, but we will always remember the one who treated us with kindness.”
